Acoustic Fridays on the Riverfront returns Friday, August 30 from 5pm-7:30pm featuring FREE live music outside on the riverside plaza from Tom Shadonix!
Food and drinks (and a signature drink!) will be available for purchase. So bike up, walk up, or drive up and enjoy the music and sunshine! No coolers and/or outside food & beverages permitted. Chairs are provided, but feel free to bring a lawn chair if you wish! In case of inclement weather, the stage will instead be set up just inside our main lobby.
Ottumwa musician Tom Shadonix has an extremely varied musical pedigree. Performing solo around Iowa, Western Illinois, and Northeast Missouri, he also performs duo shows with his granddaughter and others. He plays in symphony orchestras and several bands, including Those Guys?, Heiland Storm, Kelly’s Clan, Black Dirt Ramblers, and the Grill-Kain trio. His solo material ranges from roots and folk music as well as more contemporary tunes from a variety of sources. In addition to singing and playing guitar, fiddling enters the picture.
He teaches piano and strings at Indian Hills Community College and assists with the chorus and the jazz band. Tom holds Masters’ Degrees from Drake University and has post graduate work at Westminster Choir College.
