As Mari’s true intentions are revealed, the synagogue’s antique Torah scroll becomes a critical character in the bittersweet (and occasionally comic) drama that unfolds. Inspired by a true-life events at the Synagogue of B’nai Jacob Congregation in Ottumwa, Iowa.
