Battle of the Brushes

Join the Ottumwa Area Arts Council for Battle of the Brushes!

Normally, watching paint dry isn’t exactly thrilling... but this event is a whole different story! Get ready for a fast-paced, fun, and fierce art competition you won’t want to miss.

A talented group of local artists will have just 90 minutes to create a masterpiece based on a theme revealed at the start of the event. As the artists race against the clock, attendees can watch the creative process unfold and see how each piece evolves. Once the time is up, a panel of judges will review the works and announce the winner.

After the competition, all the paintings will be live auctioned, with 50% of the proceeds benefiting the Ottumwa Area Arts Council and the remaining 50% going directly to the artists. In addition to the artwork auction, a dessert auction will take place to raise funds for the Arts Council. Throughout the evening, food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase to keep you refreshed and energized.

Advance tickets are available for $5 at the Hotel Ottumwa front desk, or you can purchase tickets at the door for $7.
