Concerts Big and Small

Let the music carry you away, straight into Ottumwa!

Live music has always been at the heart of our community. We welcome world-renowned performers, national tours, and a variety of local performing arts groups. Whatever styles you like, you'll find them on our events calendar.

Bridge View Center: The Bridge View Center is one of Southeast Iowa’s premiere performing arts venues. The center is home to a state-of-the-art 664-seat theater and a 30,000-square-foot expo hall. Audiences have enjoyed Cole Swindell, Hairball, Florida Georgia Line, symphony concerts, and performances by many local musical and theater groups.

Indian Hills Community College Performing Arts: The Indian Hills Community College Fine Arts Department offers free concerts and shows throughout the year. The department features theater and dramatic arts, literature programs, jazz band, choirs, and visual arts.

Ottumwa Area Community Chorus: This chorus performs several times each year, including their own concerts as well as collaborative performances with the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra and other regional choirs, the Ottumwa Municipal Band, and as part of the AGPAF yearly productions of musicals.

Ottumwa Eagles: The local chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles hosts weekly country and classic rock acts for members and nonmembers alike.

Ottumwa Municipal Band: The Ottumwa Municipal Band, the longest-continuously performing municipal band in Iowa, performs every Thursday night in June and July at 7 p.m. in Central Park. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra: The Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra schedules performances at St. John Auditorium and at Bridge View Center including such popular events as the annual Symphony Ball and Music on the Green.

Pallister Brothers Bar & Taproom: Pallister Brothers hosts weekly live music across a range of genres, featuring everything from jazz pianists and metal acts to classic rock and Irish pub tunes.

Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra: SEISO is centered at Iowa Wesleyan University and supported by boards of directors in 3 cities: Burlington, Mt. Pleasant, and Ottumwa. It reaches 12,000 people every year, and has over 70 board members, 100+ volunteers, and more than 70 musicians.
